We source our seed each fall from a range of the best persimmon (Diospyros virginiana) trees across an array of Midwestern farms. This ensures that the seedling trees you buy have the highest chance of producing high yields of top-notch fruit. Our nursery might be new on the block, but the orchards that we get our seed from are certainly not!
Persimmon are dioecious (male and female flowers are on different trees). Our seedlings are not filtered for sex, so seedlings will include a mix of male and female plants.
BARE ROOT PLANTS
WE *DO* SHIP BARE ROOT PLANTS. Bare root persimmon are 6-12″. Bare root plants must be ordered in multiples of 25.
POTTED PLANTS
WE DO *NOT* SHIP POTTED PLANTS. Potted persimmon are grown in 4″x4″ square pots that are 9.5″ tall, specifically selected to develop a good root system on the plants. Potted must be ordered in multiples of 12.
